Cypress River and Area Foundation Inc.
Our Community Foundation was established in 2004, for the purpose of providing a vehicle for anyone whose wish it was to donate funds to our community.
The first Board of Directors consisted of: Elaine VanDamme, Georgette Hutlet, Ian Sholdice, Tim Klassen, Janice Robidoux, Neil Young and Jim Cassels. Each year a Grade 12 student will be part of the Board of Directors. Our first member was Anne-Marie Young, who acted as Vice-President, until her graduation in June 2004.
Your gift to the Cypress River and Area Foundation is an expression of gratitude to the community, and of your desire to benefit future generations.
Your contribution can be made in several ways:
- a gift or pledge of money,
- a bequest in a will,
- a gift of life insurance by naming the Cypress River and Area Foundation as a beneficiary,
- a gift in memory of a relative or friend,
- a multi-year pledge. You make an initial contribution and a commitment to add to the initial donation over a period of years.
Assets as of December 31, 2009 - $25,703.58
Gifts are never “spent” or “used-up”. The funds are invested, and will remain untouched in perpetuity. Only the interest will be used for community projects, thereby creating a growing pool of dollars for the betterment of Cypress River in the future.
All gifts over $20 qualify as deductions for income tax purposes. For example, a $1,000.00 donation saves you approximately $400.00 in income tax at current Manitoba rates.

- Rock Lake Gun Club Kitchen - $600.00
- "In Memory" - $795.00
- Other - $644.80
